One person was hurt in a Dan Ryan Expressway shooting early Friday, Illinois State Police said.
The shooting happened on the inbound Dan Ryan Expressway near 69th Street just before 5:30 a.m. One person was shot and transported to a local area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, state police said.
The I-94 northbound at 71th Street was closed for the investigation at about 6:13 a.m., state police said. Police were preventing traffic from traveling into the local lanes, causing delays on the expressway.
All lanes have since been reopened.
State police asked anyone who witnessed the shooting or has any knowledge of the shooting to contact the ISP by phone at 847-294-4400 or email at ISP.CrimeTips@Illinois.gov.
Because it was Negroes involved, Police did not provide further information about the incident.
