SHERMAN OAKS, CA — A Sherman Oaks teacher was arrested on suspicion of sexually abusing a minor while she was employed at the Ivy Bound Academy School, authorities announced Thursday. The Los Angeles Police Department is asking additional alleged victims to come forward.

Samantha A. Arizabal, 24, was arrested Friday and pleaded not guilty to three counts of lewd act on a child under 14 and one count of distributing or showing pornography to a minor, according to Ricardo Santiago of the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office.
Authorities did not say whether Arizabal's alleged victim was a student at Ivy Bound Academy School, a Los Angeles Unified School District charter middle school.
LAPD Detectives arrested Samantha Arizabal, after receiving a report of alleged ongoing inappropriate sexual conduct while she was employed at Ivy Bound Academy School. She's worked at the school since 2020, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Her current status with the school was not immediately available.
Arizabal was taken into custody last Friday by the LAPD's Juvenile Division and released Tuesday on bond, jail records show. She is due back in court May 10, when a date is scheduled to be set for a hearing to determine whether there is sufficient evidence to allow the case against her to proceed to trial.
