This ain’t Kim Foxx Cook County: Panama City police take new approach to stopping trespassers by ENFORCING THE LAWS

PANAMA CITY — Local police officers are getting a little clingy these days, but it's for a good cause.

Panama City Police Department officers spent part of Friday expanding their trespass window cling program into the Glenwood and St. Andrews areas to combat trespassing and loitering.

Partnering with the Panama City Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA), the program aims to give businesses extra security by authorizing officers to remove people trespassing after hours.

The window clings are a warning to trespassers “to not be here if they don't belong on the property after hours. What's important also is getting that warning out that they have the opportunity to read it and move on,” Panama City Police Chief Mark Smith said.

Panama City Police Department Sgt. Joseph Record places the window cling on Josiah's Southern Cooking in Glenwood on Friday.
